Grapple Droids were mechanized units of infantry similar in structure to the B2 Super Battle Droid, except instead of a wrist-mounted blaster, it had two wrist-mounted shield generators strong enough to block lightsaber strikes with. They would also use the shield generators as a melee weapon and strike their opponent with a powerful blow. They would even grab hold and crush their opponent giving them the term, Grapple Droids.
