The Reconaissance Droid (Recon Droid) was a small droid released by snipers, and later by Commanders, to scout the battlefield.
Star Wars: Battlefront series[]
In Star Wars: Battlefront the sniper class carries one recon droid. It can call in an orbital strike and is armed with a low powered laser cannon. In Star Wars: Battlefront II the commander class now carries the recon droid and it's orbital strike feature has been replaced with a self destruct ability. In Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron the recond droid could be equipped on any unit if selected on the customization screen.
