In the Star Wars: Battlefront Series there are a number of game type options which differ with each game. Different modes require different skills and tactics. They also have different objectives for each game mode.
Game Modes in Star Wars: Battlefront[]
Historical Campaign[]
This game mode allows you to play battles that happen in the films and just after/before the films with slight changes such as the removal of a unit.
Galactic Conquest[]
Galactic Conquest allows you to conquer planets to earn bonuses whilst working your way towards the enemy's base planet.
Instant Action[]
In Instant Action you get to pick the map(s) you play on and the Faction you play as, you can also choose wether heroes are on or off. (See Below)
Game Modes in Star Wars: Battlefront II[]
Rise Of The Empire Campaign[]
This is the 'story mode' of Battlefront II in which you get to play as the 501st Legion (Vader's Fist). It starts with the Battle of Geonosis and the battles seen in Revenge of the Sith and ends with the attack on Echo Base.
Galactic Conquest[]
Galactic Conquest was changed in Battlefront II. Instead of each planet having a bonus you now buy bonus's with credits, and each planet is worth credits. You also can now have several fleets to move to different planets or fight in space with.
Instant Action[]
In Instant Action you get to pick the map(s) and modes you play on, and the Faction you play as, you can also choose wether heroes are on or off. (See Below)
Instant Action in Battlefront I and II[]
Instant Action is the same in both Battlefront I and II as you get to pick the maps (and their order) and factions/era. In Battlefront II you can choose from a list of new modes on each map.
