BFBuilder is a map editor released by Pandemic Studios for Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Battlefront II. Included with the map editor are various assets, including sides and shipped maps, as well as the source files for the downloadable "Tatooine:Jabba's Palace".

Sound effects and music used to make the two Star Wars: Battlefront games were not included because of copyright issues[1], although it is possible to import original music and sound effects into the game.

Map editing is done through an application called Zero Editor, which is used to mold the landscapes, place objects, command posts and vehicle spawn points. Additional scripting is done through LUA files for maps, and ODF (Object Definition Files) files for objects. Levels are finalized by a process called munging (the meaning is different to Munge), which compiles assets and maps into files recognised by the game, before compiling those files into LVL files which the game can read.

Although the two engines are subtly different, assets can be imported from the first into the second, and vice versa.

Star Wars Battlefront BFBuilder[]

The BFBuilder can be found at a few sites, including:

BFBuilder does not function with the version of Battlefront on Star Wars: Best of PC by default, but you can get it to work on Windows by opening the Start menu clicking Run..., and typing, reg copy "HKLM\SOFTWARE\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront" "HKCU\Software\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront" /s, and then pressing enter, but this must be done after running Battlefront with LanchBF.exe. If it says reg.exe wasn't found try downloading it from Microsoft's website. - This fix was divised by (UGF} Corporal Desola.
