The TIE Avenger, or TIE Advanced x2 or TIE/ad starfighter, was an extremely high manueverable starfighter that was used by the Galactic Empire as both a starfighter and as an interceptor. It was crewed by one Imperial pilot and was equiped with dual Laser cannons and a warhead payload of 8 missiles (standard load). The TIE Avenger, along with the TIE Interceptor, was the successors of Darth Vader's expiremental TIE Advanced x1.
