TIE Fighters are in the main line of TIE series starfighters as well as the forerunner of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Fleet and serve as the counterpart of the Rebel Alliance's X-Wing starfighters. Typically their only form of offense is twin laser cannons though its variants are known to possess more arms. TIE Fighters are rather fragile compared to other starfighters due to their lack of shields which makes them the most vulnerable craft on the battlefield but because of their mass production values, they are often deployed in great numbers. Thus they rely on quantity over quality to overwhelm their targets. Because of this, they are often considered the cannon fodder in dogfights.
TIE Fighters do not have internal life support, so pilots carry their own. TIE Fighters also lack a Hyperdrive engine, so they require a homebase or a mothership.
